Never too early to...

So we are back after a great summer holiday - very hectic with visiting lots of great places and fitting in some Olympic events as well. Now my thoughts turn to planning the projects for my Autumn and Winter classes. This includes the Christmas Card Club as well as our regular Papercrafting and More (at Tollesbury), Scrapbooking (at Little Baddow) and Cardmaking (at Bicknacre). Hence me saying its never too early to start making your festive cards and decorations. And as a Stampin'Up! demonstrator I'm privileged to get a sneek peek at the lovely Seasonal Catalogue ahead of its official launch on 1st September. I have been using the stamps and gorgeous papers to try out the ideas for the first class (on 31st August at Bicknacre) and even though I say it myself, I'm thrilled at the rich effect of using two shades of green and two shades of red card with the festive papers ....cant wait until the ladies try them out. I'll post pictures later today.

Better Business

Just a quick post before I head off to the studio to complete my latest two commissions. the first is a fab idea to publicise a great business: Rooti Tooti Breastfeeding clothing. This entirely UK based business is family run and exists to help Mums breastfeed their babies without having to expose acres of flesh or cover themselves in a tent-like garment! Anyway - I have been asked to create some funky publicity material using Stampin' Up! products (being aware of the Angel policy) so that Mums who purchase through the website (www.rootitooti.co.uk) can spread the word. The other thing I must make today is a sign to help Mr Brown (aka the UPS delivery guy!!) see that the box of lovely Stampin' Up! goodies he is bringing comes straight to my door. I've had to place a second order following my great card class yesterday - my ladies just love the quality of SU products - once they have used them they wont go back to others.
So busy busy me today using Stampin' Up to help Rooti Tooti and to set up for my next classes.

Looking for a papercrafting group in central Essex? Message me for details of the four regular classes I run and the one-to-ones!

Must dash|!

Jubilympic Scrapbook Page

Did you see that "fly on the wall" comedy series called 2012? All spoofing the Olympic organising committee and the run up to the Olympics. Anyway I have done a scrapbook page using lovely Stampin' Up! Papers and stamps following Monica's lead ( thanks Monica Gale)to introduce my 2012 work and thought that I would do a similar one for my Jubilee and Olympic celebration pictures. In fact I'm going to run a half day class to help people make the most of all those pictures from this wonderful summer. Care to join me?

Busy day at Rooti Tooti HQ

Just a quick note to let everyone who ordered a Breastfeeding vest or wrap top today from Rooti Tooti either from their own website or via Amazon that we have been ultra busy but the dispatch department put in some overtime and made sure everything is packed ready to go into the post tomorrow. As nursing clothing specialists we know how important it is to get your lovely garments out to you as quickly as possible - every day counts- so we don't mind staying on a bit later to get everything done. The Stampin'Up! Side of my life has also been busy getting ready for tomorrow's launch of our first evening group at The Sail Loft Tollesbury. Super excited about this great venue. Hopefully pictures to upload tomorrow. Night all.

Organisation ... if only

How many times have we all said "I must organise my crafting stuff" It cant just be me can it?
I am due to have my garden crafting studio built in the next month and have been gathering all my bits and bobs ready for the move. Ive been looking at other peoples craft room lay outs on line (some really yummy ones on Etsy) so the ideas are tumbling over each other in my head. The mountain of gathered stuff is also fun - bits I had forgotten about are like old friends coming to visit - and I cant wait to have it all neatly organised in my wall of open cube storage. But above all I will be able to create lovely cards using the Stampin' Up! inks and papers that will be readily accessible instead of buried under other things. My new Simply Scored will have a cube all to itself!
Off to Google Ikea!

It has stopped raining....

Well it has rained and rained but now we have sunshine! Not such a big deal for the crafter - in fact being confined to inside the house might seem like a plus point. More time to cut and stamp and craft and play. Plenty of time to make a big list from the Stampin' Up! Ideas Book and see which stamp would be best with which colour of ink on which gorgeous card stock and so on - you know how it goes! But no! Shock horror ... The dull weather brought it's own problems- wet dogs and many muddy paws, ditches and drains and gutters to clear ( in the pouring rain of course) and a bulging greenhouse to keep going until it's nice enough for the little plants to face the big wide world. So in short it's only now that the sun has broken through that I have had an hour to complete the project for my sail loft

At what point dies shabby chic just become shabby? Well that's my aim - to stay on the chic side of course! I'm planning a super decorated box for my next class at the lovely Sail Loft, a retro tea room right at the waters edge at Tollesbury in Essex. I am going to be using Stampin' Up! papers and stamps to create a slightly aged look for the boxes but need to keep it a clean look so the box looks fabulous. I love the flowers made from spritzed then crumpled card and plan to use them on the box tops. Hmmmm maybe I will post photos when I am happy with the proportions!
